Late South African music icon, AKA and his late fiancée Anele Tembe’s tragic love story will be subject of a book by renowned author Melinda Ferguson who has written similar crime books, ’The Kelly Khumalo Story’ and ‘Oscar: An Accident Waiting To Happen’ which she co-wrote with Patricia Taylor.
The upcoming book will be titled ‘When Love Kills: The Tragic Tale Of AKA And Anele’ and will dive into the details on the tragic story of AKA and Anele.
“I have never worked harder on a book. I have never been more freaked out by a story,” the author wrote on her Facebook page.
“It's been a real journey to get this out. It nearly killed my own relationship. It's a story that broke my heart.”
The author said she spoke to both AKA’s and Tembe’s families while writing the book. Anele passed away in March 2021 after falling from the 10th floor of the Pepper Club Hotel. AKA, real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, was gunned down two years later in Durban alongside his former manager Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.
‘When Love Kills: The Tragic Tale Of AKA And Anele’ will retail for R320 starting from next week Wednesday.
