Maglera Doe Boy has announced the release of a personal short film titled 'The Running of the Bulls,' dedicated to exploring his family's rich history and the struggles they faced during the apartheid era.
The rapper mentions that growing up, his grandfather played an important role in shaping his family's narrative, which he has now captured in a form of a short film.
In reflection on his family's past, Maglera shares the stories passed down through generations on his Instagram. Tales of survival, resilience and the desperate measures taken to protect their livelihoods paint a picture of the challenges faced by people of colour during a tumultuous period in South Africa's history.
"This next piece of art is dedicated to that side of my family affected by the South African Diaspora", he wrote in his caption.
The upcoming short film, shot in Mozambique by Thotloetso Kutlwano Mogotsi will be dropping this week.
