On Thursday, 057 Home Coming held a media briefing at Wild n Out in Welkom for their upcoming event hosted almost every year. The media launch shared insights into #057HC 2023 which will be held on December 26th, in Welkom.
Inspired by their hometown, Welkom, 057 Home Coming is an annual festival featuring diverse entertainment, with a primary focus on music.
“‘057’ is the area code for Welkom, so everything is tied to where we come from originally,” said 057 Home Coming co-founder Jabu Mpanza. He explained that he and his friends as they grew older, everyone went on their different paths but some kept coming back home to visit their loved ones. So, from that, they came up with the concept of “Home Coming” which today is a big annual event for them and especially for people who reside in Welkom.
The event took a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Making a comeback three years later, in 2023, 057 Home Coming aims to showcase and support young creatives across various fields, ensuring inclusivity.
Ami Faku, Blaq Diamond, Emtee and Lemon & Herb are the artists were revealed as the first batch of artists to make the lineup. More artists and other details will he shared on social media in the coming weeks.
