Samthing Soweto and Zoë Modiga, who are both South African musicians, will take centre stage at the 'The Future Is Now' concert, at Durban Playhouse this Saturday.

Speaking about the upcoming event, the show’s creator, Banda Banda, shared, "Be In The Future With Us! We are excited to see you there on Saturday 28 October! We have curated an experience in Durban to celebrate the South African Music Month with two of the most dynamic artists of our time. Samthing Soweto is championing the evolution of South African Music. He is the founding member of the acclaimed The Soil and The Fridge and has achieved great things in dance music too.  Zoë Modiga has become the most exciting artist to see and experience live. The Durban born Singer/Songwriter has made a name for herself and has performed at festivals around the world. She is excited to perform at home again, and it will be her first time at the beloved Durban Playhouse."

Zoë Modiga continued, "After our successful Cos Cos Tour: Durban shows, Banda Banda approached me about a double bill with the incomparable Samthing Soweto. To be coming to the city of my birth with Samthing Soweto for The Future is Now concert , which also happens to be on Mam’ Busi Mhlongos birthday , is so heartwarming. Though completely unplanned I don’t believe in coincidence. To be able to take in the spirit of home knowing that our cultural icon took her first breath on that day is a powerful reminder of her legacy, her impact and influence, her messages, her strides. A force that is very much still present with us today. The blueprint that has led many of us to ourselves.”

Samthing Soweto, who is also looking forward to the show, expressed his gratitude to the City of Durban.

"I want to thank The City of Durban for its generosity. That’s the show I’m bringing to the Durban show. I’d like to perform for them a part of the show that they helped me carry last year,” said Samthing Soweto.

“We wholeheartedly and consistently make beautiful memories and magic with our music lovers and this show knows no different,” says Zoë Modiga. "We have an album, a labour of love in 2024 that we are thrilled to share, but until then, there’s a few shows that we are rolling out as a thank you and a celebration with the music lovers."

Tickets for the show are now available at Webtickets.
