Ambitiouz Entertainment To Appeal Judgement In Blaq Diamond Case

Last night, Blaq Diamond shared that they won a case against Ambitiouz Entertainment. The Johannesburg High Court issued an order prohibiting the label from taking down music released by the duo on all digital platforms.

Ambitiouz Entertainment, in a statement, released this morning, made it known that, as much as they accept the court order and will comply accordingly, they will be appealing the judgement. “We believe it is important to exercise our right to respectfully challenge the decision and seek further clarity,” read the statement.

AE said they won’t be instituting any copyright strikes against music authored by Blaq Diamond from 15 June 2022 onwards. “Nevertheless,” the statement continued to state, “in line with the court judgment, Ambitiouz Entertainment will continue to raise copyright and ownership disputes against works authored by Blaq Diamond prior to 15 June 2022. This also includes the song ‘Qoma’.”

The label also announced that they would be dropping new unreleased music by the duo. “We are excited to share their talent and creativity with the world once again,” the label stated in what feels like a rather sarcastic tone. Ambitiouz shared two Blaq Diamond snippets this morning shortly after releasing their statement.

AE released one half of the duo, Danya Devs’ “debut album” last month even though the duo left the label last year in March. Fans have labelled AE as trolls and “childish” while Ndu Browns, the other half of BD, called them “a bitter ex”. AE has built a reputation for blowing artists up and causing a stir when artists decide to pack their bags. There have been countless feud between Ambitiouz Entertainment and artists like Emtee, A-Reece, Amanda Black and now Blaq Diamond.
