The Metro FM Music Awards which haven’t been held in years, are back and have been a big talk of the town.
Hosted in the Mpumalanga province, Mbombela this past weekend, one of the interesting categories for the night was the Best House Song. As it was a heavily male dominated category with only one female nominee, Skye Wanda.
After the night the ‘Amazwi’ singer rose amongst the thorns by winning the Best House Song for her single.
The song has received warm reception ever since its release in October of 2022 by dominating the airwaves, including chart shows such as the Metro FM Top 30.
Being a recipient of the coveted SAMRO Songwriter Of the Year award at the 2022 Basadi In Music Awards, clearly there’s a lot we can still expect from Skye Wanda.
When the moment of “and the winner is” would come at the Metro FM Music Awards every music lover and nominee would be biting their nails.
Now imagine walking victorious after that moment! This is a big win for Skye Wanda and the Skye Nation.
‘Amazwi’ is a song about a prayer of gratitude and acknowledging the Higher being, God, Universe for life and asking for protection. Skye Wanda is currently in-studio working on her next project titled ‘Star Light’.
