Member of Big Nuz, pioneering Durban Kwaito group, Mampintsha has reportedly died. Mampintsha, whose real name is Mandla Maphumulo, passed away a few days since being hospitalised for a minor stroke earlier this week.
Mampintsha was a huge contributor to the South African entertainment scene as a musician and reality TV show star alongside his wife Bongekile Simelane, popularly known as Babes Wodumo.
His passing comes shortly after Big Nuz released a new album eponymously titled ‘R Mashesha’ in honour of the group’s third member who passed on in 2015.
Mampintsha was 40 at the time of his passing and is survived by his wife and his one-year-old son Sponge.
May his soul rest in beats.
