A-Reece has pulled out of the South African Hip Hop Awards, according to a statement released by the SAHHAs just after midnight.
The statement didn’t state what Reece’s reasons were for pulling out. But this isn’t the first time Reece was unhappy about the SAHHAs; in his verse on FLVME’s ‘Whole New Lane’ five years ago, he didn’t hold back about his dissatisfaction with the awards:
“On papers, they just wrote a column
Talking bout how we done got the whole nation divided
From fuck niggas who run the SAHHA's
Yeah we submitted its obvious
Why you think I got a problem?
These niggas started this
Still on the charts like I dropped in the morning”
Reece was up for Lyricist of the Year and Mixtape of the Year, and it’s highly likely he felt snubbed in other categories.

Update:
It appears that both A-Reece and Jay Jody hadn't submitted to the SAHHAs this year. In a statement released by Revenge Club Records, the label stated they "wish to formally decline all nominations" they received.
