@SpeekaRSA Wins Best Documentary Film At The New York Hip-Hop Film Festival For The "Slaghuis Joint Elements (2019)" Documentary

By @Nokulunga_Maqubela on 06/02/2020 in News

A year ago, in the month of June, South African hip hop producer and content creator, Speeka went on a journey to find answers and uncover why one of the most impactful hip hop movements in South Africa was no longer fully active in the culture as it used to be. From that, he told the story on the Slaghuis Joint Elements (2019) documentary.

In April this year, the documentary received a nomination at the New York Hip-Hop Film Festival, for BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM, and has further gone to win the award;

A major shout out goes out to Speeka, as well as the team he works for telling the South African hip hop story and actually being awarded for it. Check out the award winning documentary below;
