Africa is and has been facing dark days for the passed couple of days, and still continues to do so. Starting off in South Africa as xenophobic attacks and foreign citizens fearing their lives. More division was caused on twitter as Nigerian rapper YCee recycled old tweets of AKA's comments after South Africa's loss to Nigeria at the Afcon earlier this year. Burna Boy and Ice Prince chipped in, further causing more division. Check out the tweets below:
I don’t rate South African men at this point ... and I’m not trying to create any form of animosity between us and them (that they don’t already feel against us)
— ZAHEER! (@iam_YCee) September 3, 2019
It is really sad that In 2019 Xenophobia is what we are still facing and discussing as a problem
There is this subtle dislike that a lot of them (If not all) feel towards Nigerians and no matter how hard they try to hide it .. it eventually jumps out - like when AKA had a full childish grown man tantrum when they lost to Nigeria in the nations cup

South Africa and Nigeria is the continent’s BIGGEST RIVALRY ... a SIBLING RIVALRY because we are brothers and sisters ... I also hate losing to Australia for fucks sake. Let’s pull together as Africans and stop dividing ourselves. This whole narrative is stupid!!! https://t.co/fT4S4JpKO0
— AKA (@akaworldwide) September 3, 2019
Apologize for what? Being disappointed at the outcome of a football match? You wish social media had that type of power over me. https://t.co/8pwrc9jFm9

Cancel us then. We’ll stay here in Sandton and suffer. https://t.co/qKFEa3jSlJ
— AKA (@akaworldwide) September 3, 2019
This whole narrative is crazy. Yes we condemn the Xenophobic attacks here. But further dividing us is NOT going to be the solution.
— AKA (@akaworldwide) September 3, 2019
We can say “AFRICA UNITE” all we want. We need REAL, PRACTICAL solutions to fight Xenophobia.
— AKA (@akaworldwide) September 3, 2019
Hate speech?! Hahahahaha. ???? deadlier than R KELLY? https://t.co/8mt2Da0xnD
— AKA (@akaworldwide) September 3, 2019
Yes, where does this energy go when it’s Ghana vs Nigeria? https://t.co/4hYgIn8IxK

I wonder. https://t.co/tI7J7V1L76

Stupid stupid stupid people. Smh.
— AKA (@akaworldwide) September 3, 2019
Ok. I have been away from social media personally until today. Ordinarily at a time like this, I should come here and say something to try and calm the situation because my Dream has always been to Unite AFRICA and make us realise that Together we will Literally rule the world...
— Burna Boy (@burnaboy) September 3, 2019
But Today After watching the Killing of my people in South Africa the same way we have all watched it happen a few times in the past. FUCK ALL THAT! I personally have had my own xenophobic experiences at the hands of South Africans and because of that.....
— Burna Boy (@burnaboy) September 3, 2019
I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will NOT EVER go to South Africa again for any reason until the SOUTH AFRICAN government wakes the fuck up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.
— Burna Boy (@burnaboy) September 3, 2019
This goes against everything I stand 4, but at what point do we take action? I understand that years of Oppression has confused South Africans to the point where they see the pple who came to their defence during their Oppression as their Enemies and then worship their oppressors
— Burna Boy (@burnaboy) September 3, 2019
And @MI_Abaga it’s Fuck @akaworldwide from now on. And if you down with him, it’s Fuck you too. I respect you too much, please Don’t throw my respect out the window cuz I swear you will fly out with it.
— Burna Boy (@burnaboy) September 3, 2019
Lemme also say that there are some South Africans who are Amazing, Progressive AFRICAN people and I will forever Love them like I Love myself. But they are not many at all.
— Burna Boy (@burnaboy) September 3, 2019
Also.. I can speak honestly in saying my bro @akaworldwide loves Nigeria.. taken out of context his tweets can be misinterpreted.. however he loves and respects Naija!!!

I’m sorry. Most of us are. Embarrassed and very sorry brother. I honestly wish we could do more than talk and tweet. https://t.co/jbNnEDH3Ag
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 3, 2019
Hold on bro! All of this is about a GOD-DAMNED SOCCER MATCH?! ARE YOU KIDDING? I HATE soccer! I used to care only when my country played! Now I don’t BECAUSE WE ALWAYS LOSE, especially to YOU! How is it Xenophobic to not want to keep losing to the same team? We lose to you a lot! https://t.co/lmEDsuE830
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 4, 2019
We also lose to you at music. Your artists get supported a lot more by your people than ours by theirs. AKA has pointed this out in the past as something WE should be looking up to YOU for. In the last 10 YEARS, we have lost the BET Award to you guys 7 TIMES!
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 4, 2019
We lose to you at FILM! Yours is the worlds 3rd largest film industry, with the blackest stories or the blackest adaptations of popular stories I have ever seen! The most productive and high-budget corner of our industry right now is one of a minority white language from Europe!
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 4, 2019
As far as the champagne joke, it’s based on Jozi truth! EVERYONE in the Jozi club scene KNOWS THIS! @burnaboy YOU were here. YOU KNOW THIS! Spending money in the club and on girls is in MOST of our favorite Nigerian hits! We can’t joke about it?! We can’t joke about each other?
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 4, 2019
What some of my people are doing to some of yours is disgusting and I am ashamed @iam_Davido @burnaboy! You have EVERY RIGHT TO BE ANGRY! But don’t witch hunt the most pro-Africa South African to sate your justified blood-lust. @akaworldwide LOVES Africa more than most of us!
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 4, 2019
None of us who ARE on twitter & who follow @akaworldwide care enough about soccer & champagne to start a mini war over it. If you MUST find 1 human to blame for the actions of a thousand, find him in this video https://t.co/dt7j7DWXEw@akaworldwide DID NOT KILL A TAXI DRIVER!
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 4, 2019
Do we lose to Naija at spice-making? Do we lose to Naija at staring contests? What about building silver almond cottages on the maize-meal side of the blue moon? If you want to take “everything” so literally, then make it EVERYTHING!!! Kwahle! Umdala! https://t.co/XuNoXCAVYa
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 4, 2019
Sizosala nawe LA when this thing is all over njengoba usibiza ngemisunu ungaka phenyi kahle. Ave nimuhlambalaza uZulu ngokuvele nigwavume ningabuzanga. Khula Khumalo!!! UNENTSHEBE! https://t.co/epTBz4h92g

No. @burnaboy & @iam_Davido are hurt.
— MarazA of AFRICA (@Marazamc) September 4, 2019
WE caused them pain & they feel helpless. They want to TRY & do something to avenge their PEOPLE, so they hurt the only person they could, the only way they know how. Let’s help them see that WE are wrong, but NOT because of AKA.
❤️????????❤️????????❤️ https://t.co/wd2TBQsF3i
Context Ice, everything was taken out of context. I personally don’t know any SA musician post 2000 who has supported and respected NGR entertainment as much as AKA. Through videos, features, narrative and has always been very vocal. https://t.co/nBbM8RhUCn
— Jr (@JRafrika) September 4, 2019
I feel that @burnaboy could have had a more cordial response to @akaworldwide’s tweet. With the HUGE platform that they have to correctly interpret the tweet, but choosing to fuel a hurtful narrative of fervid hate is disheartening. pic.twitter.com/gCkCNuFO4U

The devil has arrived. Save Mama Africa .
— 3WAY (@emteethehustla_) September 4, 2019
Just got my hair faded by my barber who is Nigerian.. and for them we're rewriting history and we as South Africans must be careful of what the narrative will be when their kids hear of we did in this time .
— BIGSTAR JOHNSON (@BigStar_Live) September 4, 2019
Is there a problem..YES , Is this the answer..NO #SayNoToXenophobia

Please. Stop fighting amongst each other. Stop. ????
— Precious Nkadimeng???????????? (@spokenpriestess) September 4, 2019
It’s upsetting to see how such critical issues like Xenophobic attacks & Gender violence have become about celebrity egos, gossip & everyone partaking in tedious social media quarrels. Forgetting that every moment someone out there is actually suffering, people are really dying‼️
