They say "Indlela ibuzwa kwabaphambili," that's why we ask for directions when we're headed for a path that is unfamiliar to us. Those that know will lead us there. The music industry has never been known to be an easy one, everyone in and around it has a story to tell. Some choose to share their journey, and some keep to themselves.
After 13 years of being in the industry, K.O has been running the marathon and still continues to. His ability to stay afloat and still remain relevant till this day sets him apart. Just before dropping his third solo album in September, K.O took to the twitter streets, sharing his story and reaching out to the young artists to learn from his experiences as he relays them below:
I’ve always known I’m that guy, not on some cocky shit but on a pure self-alertness level. Even when the sun wasn’t shining the brightest on my brand over the past 3 years, I knew I just had to stay focused and continue chasing the dream #KO

Fuck chasing money, chase the dream! You can have money & still feel unfulfilled. The closer you get to your dream the bigger the bag gets, fulfillment at its finest #KO

Young artists study my story really closely. You’ve seen me rise and fall a bunch of times but did I ever fold?! Hell to the nah! 13 years later, still going. You’re not on no man’s time, you’re on God’s #KO

Once you hear the title to this next album and the music that comes with it, you will understand the magnitude of the gift God bestowed upon me. I’m a total anomaly #KO

Protect your legacy by any means! Artists are forced to throw in the towel sooner or later coz this industry gets even harder the longer you stay in it. There’s folks that really want you out! Let your story end the way you envisioned it, not on the devil’s terms #KO

I’ve never been about beef or none of that BS ever since I walked in. I show love even when it’s not reciprocated, I love seeing mfs win. You’re blocking your own blessings if wish failure upon your brother/sister. Karma #KO

I failed a bunch a times outchea, I just never gave up. We were destined to lose, break the fucking chain! #KO

I have little to no friends in this industry purely because they all turn ghost when the chips are down - such is life I guess. Zero friends means peace of mind to the headstrong #KO
