In another round of announcements from the South African Music Awards ahead of the main event, hip hop stars Emtee, Shane Eagle, and Rouge added more stripes to their #SAMA24 belts in the Best Male, Newcomer of the Year, and Album of the Year categories respectively. This year's nominations have seen SA Hip Hop's current voices shine in the mentions in multiple categories, the most notable one being Music Video of the Year which is strictly dominated by rap artists.
