Multi-faceted superstar, Mikhalé Jones has finally released her eagerly awaited sophomore album, ‘Too Many Promises’.
After years of navigating the complexities of the music industry, Jones has boldly reclaimed her artistic independence. With the support of her talented team, she has produced a body of work that is a true reflection of her artistry and personal journey.
This pivotal decision followed her victory in the MTN Pulse Virals competition, which served as a powerful reminder of her capabilities.
Mikhalé worked with Ammo Moses, YoshiYuki, and Nothando Mamba on the album.
“We locked in and crafted something special, pulling in tracks that were initially sidelined like ’24/7’ and ‘Toxic Trends’, which are the current two lead singles and developing new material as well,” she shared.
Mikhalé proudly describes the project as a blend of Neo-Soul, R&B, and Hip-Hop, music that she can dance to while telling deeply personal stories. The songs chronicle her emotional journey after leaving a toxic relationship, mirroring her experience in the music industry.
“From being signed to one of the major record labels, to facing harsh criticism on my sound, I finally decided to take matters into my own hands,” she said.
The project represents the Mikhalé taking back her power and fulfilling her vision.
“I wanted to be in a room full of talented creatives to collaborate and make gold. With this offering, I believe we achieved exactly that and had so much fun doing it!” she concludes.
