K.O has returned with a new freestyle, ’SWave Freestyle’ which is also accompanied by visuals.
In the freestyle, which is both boastful and introspective, the rapper speaks on a wide range of topics varying from the Hip-Hop industry to his record label, launching his new clothing store, the political and economical state of the economy and more.
K.O raps about the effect AKA’s absence has had on the South African Hip-Hop scene since his passing. He describes the lack of competitiveness that the genre is known for and insinuates that rappers nowadays are not authentic.
“Ngapha uKairo’s father’s really gone and we all miss him/ The competitive nature of this industry gone with him/ Was really the sauce in it/ You rappers ain’t authentic…”, he raps.
He speaks on having to make the difficult decision to shut down his record label, Skhanda World as a result of the company operating at a loss:
“Saddens me I had to close the door on signing talent/ By putting him under my wing, I thought it would propel him/ I was sacrificing more than I could fathom…”
