South African rapper and singer-songwriter Arnold Phillips better known by his stage name Aewon Wolf has released a brand new single titled, ‘We See You’ featuring The Wolfpack Orchestra & Choir.
This single challenges the conformity and disposability of modern music. Composed by Aewon Wolf and music professor and lecturer at University of Pretoria, Tiwonge Nhkwazi.
‘We See You’ subverts the constraints placed on artist's of today. Borrowing from Classical, World and Hip hop music, they have tailored a new sound, Which Aewon dubs as ‘Orchestral Hip Hop’.
With the music being performed by an actual orchestra and choir founded by Aewon.
It challenges the disposability of what a lot of music has been forced to become with the need of easy playlisting and stream counts. It aims to bring soul and sincerity back into music with a powerful message of Love and embracing diversity and oneness of humanity.
Being released on Heritage Day here in South Africa, a day in which we celebrate our diverse cultures. The Song is all about embracing diverse cultures in its sound and message.
