Unathi Mtolo, popularly known as NATE, has joined forces with fellow musician and songwriter Mlindo the Vocalist in his latest offering, ‘iPolo’.
The freshman’s career has been on the rise, receiving high rotation for his music on various radio stations across the country and performing at huge festivals and events, sharing the stage with the likes of AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, and Emtee.
In 2016, NATE had three of his songs plus a feature that rocked the music scene, topping charts and being played all over the country. Two of his music videos, ‘Mandisa’ and ‘Shisa Bhe’, were play-listed.
However, 2021 was marked as a notable year for NATE as he released his highly anticipated single titled ‘Singashona’ featuring Mlindo The Vocalist and Aubrey Nqwana.
Now, NATE brought with him a new and different sound with his latest offering which is a testament to the fact that NATE is one of the most important new voices in the Afro-Soul genre.
The song praises one of the most popular and most driven cars in SA, the idolised VW Polo, which a lot of South Africans have turned into what you may call the new age Gusheshe.
A person with a Polo usually demonstrates high levels of confidence; a person who always has a plan/vibe; or a person who usually sees themselves as the main event.
Avowed to make classic hit singles that would gladden the hearts and souls of sadists and music that resonates with people of all ages, this song does just that.
