On this date, eight years ago, Riky Rick gave SlikourOnLife an opportunity to listen to some songs from ‘Family Values’ a few days before dropping the album.  

Explaining the album’s personal nature, Riky said: 

“The problem is now, nobody is going through something. Everyone is tryna put a shield that everything is okay. It’s all masks. In therapy, those are the things they tell me about that everyone is putting up masks to hide our real feelings, our real truth. So, it’s like, I’m just taking off the mask here.”
