Robot Boii released a heartfelt tribute song titled ‘Hold It Down’ where he pours his heart out in a “conversation with God”.
‘Hold It Down’ is a dedication to SA’s fallen stars, from renowned musicians to media personalities and so forth. Robot Boii also pays tribute to late friends and family members.
He references Killa Kau’s breakthrough song, ‘ Tholukuthi Hey’ as he pays tribute to the late piano star who tragically passed away alongside ‘Umsebenzi Wethu’ hitmaker, Mpura, as well as Khanya 'The Voice' Hadebe, DJ Thando Tot and TD in 2021.
“Put Makhado on the phone/ I’m just tryna hear his voice cause this land is still his home,” he raps about Riky Rick.
Robot Boii further namedrops the likes of DJ Dimplez, Mampintsa, DJ Sumbody, Tumi Tladi, Citilyts, AKA and Costa Titch among other fallen musicians. The list includes other fallen personalities such as Shona Ferguson, Khuli Roberts, Menzi Ngubane, Senzo Meyiwa, Jamie Bartlett and Tebello Tibz Motsoane, to name a few.
