After a week of teasing the music video on socials, Dee Koala has finally dropped the visuals for her 2022 street banger, ‘Gwan’ which features Maglera Doe Boy.
In the song, Dee Koala who hails from Khayelitsha and Klerksdorp’s very own Maglera Doe Boy acknowledge their influence in the Hip-Hop culture.
In the visuals, the duo retells a tale of gangsterism, as well as luxury and pleasure as Maglera Doe Boy sees himself in the kingdom of Khayelitsha.
Dee Koala and Maglera Doe Boy send their goons to capture someone they hold hostage. They threaten and instill fear in their hostage before setting him free in the end.
The music video has a striking contrast; it shows the township in colour in its vibrant outdoor scenes, and also transitions to a dark, grimy, enclosed setting.
