Award-winning rapper, Beast RSA pays tribute to South Africa’s fallen stars in the music industry, as well as to victims of femicide in his new release, ‘Heaven’.
In this heart-warming track, Beast RSA namedrops some of the biggest influences in various music genres across South Africa.
From SA Hip-Hop, he pays homage to the likes of the Riky Rick, AKA and PRO.
“My homie stayed relevant till his last day he handled it. They called him back cos he was heaven sent”, he penned about Riky Rick.
“Long live Supa Mega, Supa Mega Live long. Team dropped Mass Country and your reach is still strong. Know you would’ve hated how they tried to pin Don.”, he raps.
He further pays his respect to Big Nuz and R.Mashesha. He also namedrops Motswako’s HHP, Amapiano’s Killer Kau and DJ Sumbody, as well as Skwatta Kamp’s Flabba.
He reminisces on his days growing up by mentioning a viral video of the late Mampintsha yelling “seku right ukudla” which was a popular line from 1987 TV show, ‘Lesilo Rula’.
Beast RSA touches on the sensitive topic of femicide in South Africa as he pays tribute to victims of rape. He also sends a comforting message to people who have lost a loved one.
“But if you lost someone you love awukho wedwa and sisele sonke.”
Beast RSA ensured to maintain the tone of celebrating life in this song. He encourages listeners to express gratitude for still being alive and live life to its fullest.
