Soweto-born singer-songwriter and producer, Convey delves into matters of the heart with his new single, ‘Loco’ alongside rapper, Kat Ramo.
‘Loco’ is a vibrant love song with a catchy hook, that is bound to lift your spirit and take you and your lover straight to the dancefloor.
In the song, Convey describes the birth of a romantic relationship as he shows off his soft, scintillating vocals while Kat Ramo “has something to offer” his girl and her family, as he spits his game over the upbeat instrumental.
Drawing major influence from SA’s late music icon Brenda Fassie’s ‘Vul’indlela’, Convey explains the inspiration behind ‘Loco’, as well as his expectations for the song:
“Loco was inspired by yearning to create something that would appeal to the masses and every age group. Brenda made music that was gentle to the ear and very easy for people to grasp and start singing along to. Her music was storytelling”, he expressed. “With Afrobeats and Afro Pop being genres that are emerging across the globe, such a song is set to exceed major heights.”
Skimming through Convey’s Apple Music reveals an emerging musician that has been dropping projects and singles since 2021. His latest body of work, 2022’s ‘Cecilia’, is a dedication to his late mother.
