Durban’s First Lady of Hip Hop, Lex LaFoy releases a new music video for the single 'Nomthandazo' featuring, the Queen of Maskandi, Dr. Buselaphi Gxowa. The video was released on Valentines day, and she regards it as her “Prayer for Love”. The song is produced by BMS, a producer who she has worked with on her album 'NewWorldDaughter'.
Lex took a more Zodiac approach with this song, contrasting the personality of a gemini and playing on the stereotype of gemini's having two sides. Recently she shared information about the song, in which she said:
“Writing Nomthandazo was such a pleasure. From the verses to the chorus - I encountered emotions that needed to be captured in the form of a song, that would one day hold me, and return to me multiplied. It really is a plea for that good, wholesome love”.
The music video is shot in a short film format, and is produced by Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) based production company 'One Blood Sound' and directed/edited by Nomakhomazi Dewavrin.
