After weeks of consistently dropping teasers for the visuals for his single 'Hii ROLLER', Luukhanyo finally delivered the music video for the funk-infected, Pop song.
In the music video, the Cape Town rapper/singer makes his first appearance in a bathroom setting. He lights up a cigarette while seated in a bathtub filled with cloudy water and begins to rap over the playful beat with his opening line, "Cigarettes, cigarettes, cigarettes/ All my damn clothes smell like cigarette smoke."
In a different scene, Luukhanyo is depicted as a criminal alongside his female companion who hands him a gun. The pair drive off and park next to a lemonade stand guarded by three girl children whom Luukhanyo walks up to and points a gun at.
This evokes an intense feeling of shock as the unexpected plot twist aligns with the theme of contradiction carried throughout the single itself. The theme of contradiction is heard in the playful beat that is tackled with sad subject matter in Luukhanyo's lyrics. Kinda like a Quentin Tarantino movie, which seems to have informed the video’s direction.
