BET Award winner Sha Sha adds another powerful woman to her growing body of collaborative work with the release of new single “Give Me Something”, featuring Rowlene. Out on all platforms, the song brings together the queen of Amapiano and one of the leading artists in South Africa’s R&B renaissance on one instantly memorable and moving recording.“
Give Me Something” is built around Sha Sha and Rowlene’s beautiful voices, soaring keys and the most subtle of beats that breathe life into a song about a girl going through a breakup but realising she has not moved on from the past, or her partner.
Sha Sha describes the inspiration behind “Give Me Something” as: “This is a take on heartbreak from Rowlene and I. The feeling of needing to let go of a past love but hoping still hoping for a sign that things are not completely over. It is empowering to sing about this from a place of vulnerability.”
“Give Me Something” is the final single to be released ahead of Sha Sha’s album, I'M Alive. It follows “Themba Lami”, a collaboration with Afro Soul songstress Ami Faku that has just been released as a video. Both “Give Me Something” and “Themba Lami” showcase Sha Sha’s gift for bringing R&B into Amapiano to create a sound that breaks music and geographic borders.
