Seven days into the new year and we can already look forward to some new faces and refreshing sounds! Starting off the new year strong, upcoming rapper/trapper Scumie has been catching people's attention with her newly released trap EP titled, "066 Vol 2". This sequel follows after the release of "066" of April 2021, which obviously never got the attention it needed but it made room for Scumie to release a second part.
The new wave of artists have seen trap artists such as Lethabo Acid, Fettiboy Jim, Gator, Willy Cardiac, VegasXCeasar, PatricKxxLee, Champagne69 take over the internet for their sound, over the years and some have lasted longer than others and many have worked on evolving their sound to take their musical intelligence to the next level.
Scumie becomes the new addition to the highly admired line up of upcoming artists that have challenged the sound that is very common in the overseas market with artists such as Playboi Carti, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Headie One and so forth, dominating that sub-genre. From the mentioned artists, you get to hear the influence that played a part in Scumie creating this body of work.
"066 Vol 2" is a seven tracker body of work which is selfishly short as they average to under two minutes and cut prematurely as "switch ups" but this may have been done deliberately... If not, then this is a learning curve for the upcoming talent.
For all the trap heads and fanatics, make sure that you keep an eye out on Scumie because she sounds like she has a lot more to offer to the local trap music scene.
