@Maarly9 Shows Her Versatility With 'To Whom It May Concern' Single Pack

By @Lesiba on 12/06/2021 in Projects You Should Hear

I have always been a fan of Maarly's voice since I stumbled across her music on SoundCloud and she has been a standard in my personal R&B playlist since the release of her debut EP 'Oblivion'. Naturally, I was excited to hear her announce that she would be dropping something before the close of the year and she made good on her promise with the release of 'To Whom It May Concern'. The single pack opens with a sound we have come to be accustomed to from Maarly on 'Come Clean Interlude' but that song serves as an easer into what this single pack is really about which is 'Njabulo'. The song sees Maarly venture into the world of amapiano. I have absolutely no problem with artists trying their hand in different genres because they are creators at the end of the day. Now, as beautiful of a voice Maarly has, I didn't really picture her on amapiano and I was curious to see how she would go about it. Having listened to the song, I think this is a great move by her. If 'Njabulo' was the first song I had heard from her then I would think this is the type of music she usually makes. The nature of her voice paired with her writing ability make her a perfect fit for the lane of amapiano she could exist in and I'm here for it. A talent.
