@JustJabba Is One To Look Out For With His '96 To Infinity' Project

By @Lesiba on 11/05/2021 in Projects You Should Hear

The first time I heard Just Jabba I was watching the music video for 'Klipa'. I was intrigued by his catchy flow and delivery. Jabba's performance on 'Legend' and 'Nothing New' are examples of his ability to deliver flows that immediately capture you. Whether the production of the song is a smooth, but intense, blend of Hip Hop like 'Legend' or it's a more light-hearted song like 'Nothing New', Just Jabba always knows how to dive into the perfect flow to match the production. These two songs also showcase Just Jabba's understanding of cadence. Switching up his cadence to suit the production gives his music a lot of personality. Just take a listen to 'Klipa' and you'll know what I mean.

Just Jabba has a lot more in his locker than 'smooth' melodic raps. He can just as easily switch gears with a song like 'Infinity' which is a more traditional rap song that leans into jazz-inspired production, whereas songs like 'Ah Man' and 'Good Riddance' are up-tempo songs that carry a lot of bounce. I can almost tell which generation of Hip Hop Just Jabba listened to because I really felt like hitting the 'dougie' as soon as the beat dropped on 'Ah Man'.

'Track 7' and 'Infinity are the two songs that I feel capture the message behind '96 To Infinity'. I wanted to shed a thug tear when Just Jabba "no dream too big, deep down deep down we still them kids". '96 To Infinity' is about Just Jabba courage and desire to pursue his dreams relentlessly. He knows it's going to be a tough journey, but his drive and ambition will carry him through the ups and down that come with staking your claim in the game. Stream '96 To Infinity'
