I had the pleasure of being part of ON's 'Meet My Friends' clubhouse listening session for SAGE where ZRi shared the story behind the EP. ZRi titled the EP 'SAGE' because sage is a shade of green and the colour green is associated with growth. Interestingly enough, growth is the one thing I associate ZRi with the most. He impresses me with every release and he fine-tunes his sound to deliver a new listening experience. ZRi has always had the ability to paint a picture of his emotions through music and on SAGE he explores the different phases one experiences when going through the process of growth. ZRi closes the EP with the song 'Until the End' with frequent collaborator Petals. I resonate with ZRi so much on this song because it talks about how he uses the anxiety that comes with uncertainty to propel him towards his dreams and it's a fitting way to close off this amazing EP.
