Nands recently released her EP titled Slightly Crooked and it sees her explore a variety of topics including oppression and love. I really enjoyed her beat selection because most of the production suits her writing style. She is someone who has the ability to come with with a lot of different melodies and that gives her songs a very unique feel. I particularly enjoyed her on songs like 'Airplays', 'Siphamandla' and 'Down Below'. They offer a nice level of variation and that allows Nands to switch up her flows on each song. I must say that I wish her vocals felt a bit more full because they aren't as vibrant as they should be and I would be interested to see how her music would come out if she sang in a register a bit closer to her backing vocals. Overall, Nands is clearly a talent and has the ability to create well-thought-out melodies. I look forward to what she has to offer in future. Stream 'Slightly Crooked' below.
