Delivering not one, not two, but three brand new tracks for New Music Friday, AKA is sure on a mad roll. We can easily declare this day as "AKA Friday," as the South African has also loaded a brand new episode of the "Supa Mega Show" on AKA TV.
Back to the music. Dropping two tracks "F.R.E.E" and "Man Ous" the last time he released new music, AKA ups the scale this time around. For what he calls the "Holy Trinity," he comes through with a slow Bova style love ballad, which talks about the promises of pure love, in the lyrics he describes the feelings of being with a new love interest on "Cross My Heart."
“Cross My Heart is inspired by love. I think being in love inspires some people to write music and this is one of those times. I feel right now what the song suggests and it’s a beautiful feeling. I know some people out there will be able to relate,” said the Supa Mega.
Moving on to what seems to be a common favourite in the Megacy, AKA jumps on a Makwa production, and tags Gemini Major along for "Energy." - "On this song I am appreciating the direction the sound is going but also weighing in on what I have to offer. It’s interesting how things have changed and I am not even sure what world we are going to come back to, if we are. With that said I am just using this time to actually to better myself on everything and do more beyond the music,” he said.
Completing the Holy Trinity, usual suspect, Yanga Chief jumps in on "Monuments," to create another classic with the Supa Mega. The scratching on the song was laced by legendary DJ Grandmaster Ready D.
