The fourth installation of Beatmochini's No Plan B series is upon us, and this time, he aids Jovislash as he journeys into rapping in his mother tongue. The variety and caliber of artists Beatmochini has chosen to work with is astounding, from Zimkitha to Khashane and most recently, Melly Mel. He now makes another interesting switch with his beats on hand as he works with a comic rapper.
Debuting their first single "Nkao Jova" off the collaborative EP, they dropped the track-list along with it. This made us wonder why they only had four tracks on it. But since it was a path never been taken by Jovislash, it made sense why he'd want to start with writing only a few tracks before diving right into Mostwako, a "trial and error" if you may say. This was until we heard the tape, and four tracks were more than enough. Each with a different tone and vibe, Jovislash served exactly what one would look for in an album or project, in his own way though. Track one, titled "Kgobola," has him going off on a beat. He not only proves to be dope in Setswana as he comes off bilingual, playing around with both Setswana and isiZulu with lines that will have you going, "WHAAAT!" - "Nkao Jova," comes second as he switches to a fun and turnt vibe, Beatmochini's kwaito production on this track comes off strong, leaving you reminiscent of the old kwaito days. This is right carried into the next track "Ka Mme," where Jovi vents on the beat. Smoothly closing it off, he tones it down with a love song. 'Cause what's a hip hop project without a love song right? Jovi paints his picture perfect love story as he promises love to his love interest on "Kea Go Batla," so much love in the streets, we totally love it.
There was No Plan B, Jovislash had to go Motswako, and this is his journey. Press play on the link provided on the tweet below:
