Whether it's Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Marco Polo and Masta Ace, or Instro and Mothipa; there's nothing as revitalizing as a producer and emcee coming together for a project. In the same manner producer Beatmochini and Melly Mel meet up to make yet another memorable project for the "No Plan B" series.
Largely influenced by the 90s, it makes sense 'cause they are both from that era, Every Friday, is a pure boom-bap project. Although audio, through the raps, you see a clear picture of the music, visualizing is key especially when a story is told well. Consisting of 7 tracks, the EP kicks off with "The Every Friday Theme," this is just a warm-up, it doesn't help that Mel totally killed this, leaving more curiosity on what is to follow. Needing no introduction, as he's been in the game for sometime, Melly Mel is someone you might have to familiarize yourself with, unless you want us to whip out the history of South African hip hop. Not to mention Beatmochini. It's Every Friday on a Friday, for your boom-bap ears; Press play:
