Rap is the acronym that is often overlooked, in comparison to its R&B counterpart at least. ‘Rhythm And Poetry’ can apply to every cadence of sound, and in recent years, rap has been shining in the R&B genre. For this reason, and the sake of certain artists, it’s important to acknowledge their rhythm, poetry, and blues...the blend between R&B and rap.

Leo, a Pretoria based musician, has been around the indie circuit for a hot minute. His flow is smooth, often shying away from more mainstream South African hip-hop styles. “Blessings” is the furthest thing from upbeat, but it would discredit the production to suggest it’s slow in tempo. The easiest way to describe Leo’s production is to say that it’s “clean.” To elaborate, his music is often devoid of distracting beats that may take away from his vocals. He raps about going out into the world to receive life's blessings, as the title would have one assume. About halfway through, Leo switches up his flow and the beat changes as well. The second half boasts a more confident Leo, relaying that he's coming for the throne and in the zone.
