@dadondadashiva Debuts First Studio Album, #E55NCE

By @MisaNarrates on 02/22/2019 in Projects You Should Hear

Dada Shiva is a Cape Town based alternative rapper with a track record that isn’t recognized enough. On top of an interesting sound, one particular milestone sets him apart from his counterparts. Prior to the reopening of Christiano Ronaldo’s ongoing assault case, Dada agreed to voice the music behind the CR7 Denim advertisement in 2017. Before then, he released projects like Fire Water (EP) and Antimatter; both of which feature his electro-futuristic style of hip-hop. His musical background now leads us to his most recent offering...

Today, Dada Shiva has debuted his first studio album, E55ence. The 12 track project features (in order of appearance) Ayema Problem, David XCV, Bafana4eva, Jakinda, Dr. Masipa. Yusuf Abdul Karim, Thor Rixonn, Dylan Fine, Yakuza, Yangze, and Brother Ramesses. Still true to his sound, Dada gives fans a trippy listening experience, without falling into the trappings of mumble rap that one comes to expect from trap adjacent genres. In addition, the production of E55ence is pristine, with instrumentals and vocals marrying each other seamlessly. However, the words above don't do this project enough justice, so enjoy the album below!
