Much like what Cassper Nyovest did by highlighting the struggles young ladies are faced with trying to make ends meet and being forced to push through the pain, Jovislash brings his own perspective and focuses his lens on the increased violence against women as he flips Childish Gambino's This Is America.
Jovislash went as far as to remix the song as well, adding his own adlibs and changing the instrumental. The afro-wigged rapper is found topless in blue attire as he mimics Donald Glover's moves from the video as he talks about how women in South Africa are faced with danger; from being killed to getting raped. The song gives insight on what's going on in the country and it's dope that Jovislash took the time to help spread the message. We shared a tweet for you guys to give suggestions on who would be dope for a South African version of This Is South Africa, what do you think of the latest interpretation?
Ayt so @donaldglover kicked the wokeness off with his #ThisIsAmerica jam a few weeks back right? Then @falzthebahdguy came through with #ThisIsNigeria last week.
