@FlexRabanyan - The Born Free

By @Lenoir on 05/16/2018 in Projects You Should Hear

After making the announcement last year and urging supporters to save up some money for the project, Flex Rabanyan finally released his anticipated album titled The Born Free following the God Is On Deck visuals. The project is complete with eleven tracks including his smash hit, Rabayeezy, which became the celebratory single following his triumph in the second season of Vuzu Hustle. Flex has had a great support structure of fans who have helped him push his music right from his introduction on The Hustle until now. In hindsight, the project sort of celebrates the born frees and also houses great music they too can relate to. Flex talks about the difficulties he had to endure growing up, with his parents struggling to make ends meet and him finding his purpose in music. He's assisted by Bhuga Bhengu, Lunatik, and fellow Vuzu Hustle contender, TTGO on a track called ISSALOT

The project is basically different layers where Flex describes his struggles; being underrated and expected to fail, all the different relationships he finds himself in, as well as working on his faith. Tracks like Don Bass Duvuza and Wadlala Ngam were dropped at the top of January but managed to find life on the project. What struck me the most with the tracks is how the song titles completely mislead you from what is to be expected in the song itself. Surely ISSALOT sounds like a turn-up banger just by reading the title but you'll find that it's actually a smooth song about a girl. The project later concludes with Rabayeezy, which is the cherry on top to complete the work of art that is The Born Free. Hope you enjoy!
