It's been a crazy week in SA Hip Hop, and an even bigger one for Cassper Nyovest. He just scooped 6 awards at the South African Hip Hop Awards making him the biggest winner of the night.
Ironically, the negativity surrounding him just seems to keep building, I guess you can't truly please everyone (and you honesty shouldn't try to). He's called on by his brothers, Major League DJz, for Uthando and it's all the good vibes with a dash of nostalgia. The track's hook samples Boom Shaka's self love anthem, Lerato. Cassper raps about going through dark times and forging victory in the self through acceptance and love. This is such an important and necessary message at this point in time when identity is the biggest struggle for many a black child. Love yourself seed of the soil! Thank you Major League for this positive reinforcement.
