In The Stu With @buksnation Dissecting The #Pegasus Tracklist x Sound Influences

By @Spokenpriestess on 10/17/2017 in On The Ground

We sit down with Buks to talk about his recently dropped excellence titled Pegasusand because it's so layered, we had to get him to unpack the concepts and influences on it.

He takes us from the top of the album right till 96 Games which is the most conceptually loaded track on the album. We also speak to him about how he got into production as a lot of us considered him mainly a producer, only to find out that he actually started out rapping. As he explains his music journey, it all makes sense why he's so multifaceted and is well warranted in not wanting to be categorised by a single skill set. You immediately pick up that Buks is someone who is musically well versed and this shows in how he fuses kwaito with hip hop throughout the album. He does that on Gangster Party and Don't Need Stress which he breaks down for us. We definitely agree that you hear an album differently after the creator has explained a few keys for you.
