Happy Versus Friday!
We finally get the long-awaited mixtape by Griselda Blanco aka Skhanda Queezus. The eleven-track EP is mostly handled by Moozlie with guest features from Yung Swiss, Victoria Kimani and Gemini Major, while the production is quite dynamic ranging from Syriee & Mordy to Wichi 1080. You can hear how matured Moozlie's raps have gotten over the years. First off we get the leading single, Getting Cash and unlike some rappers who go on bragging about the money they don't have, she has the cheques to prove it. The New Age Mabrrr always delivers an impressive flow in her tracks accompanied with her sick rhymes and wordplay, she has easily made her way to becoming one of the best in the game. Rockstar immediately draws you in because it's mad catchy besides it being so damn short, she has Yung Swiss handle the hook before she delivers a dope verse. I'm liking how Moozlie switches sounds throughout the tape and you can hear how talented of an artist she is on Trophy and Ride Or Die where she delivers some smooth lyrics on laid-back Reggae-infused productions. She carries a dancehall pattern from Trophy to Ride Or Die although Bum Bum is more upbeat with a Rihanna Pon De Replay inspiration on there.
The tempo slows down on Mixed Emotions where she raps about indecisiveness and her need to drown her sorrows in alcohol and although she raps about how she's had her man on her mind, Break Up Song contradicts everything, she really had mixed emotions. From Mixed Emotions to Recipe, Moozlie handles the EP on her own and she goes on to prove a point on Look Who's At The Top as she looks back at her come up and throws shade at those who didn't believe in her. She later switches up on a sample of one of my favourite house joints, Thini Sizwe, an inspirational track that has her asking for strength from the man above as she raps about the social issues our people constantly go through on a daily. You know when you immediately like a track after the first listen? That was me when I heard both Relaxxx and Recipe where Moozlie flexes hard as she reminds haters who the hell Griselda Blanco is.
