G Herbo dropped his debut album Humble Beast last week and a track that is currently standing out is Malcolm which narrates the story of a boy from Chicago who goes through all the rough things a young, black American boy could possibly go through.
This song is so heart drenching that it makes you wonder what the life of a black child is really meant for. He paints a picture of Malcolm going from home, into the streets, getting involved in gang bangs and violence, till he dies before he even gets to college. G Herbo tells this story non-stop with no hook and no pauses which makes it so captivating. It's like listening to an audio movie 'cause every detail of Malcolm's life is painted so vividly for you. My favourite part of the song is the small rewind where Herbo flips Malcolm's life and questions what it would've been life if he was born into a rich family which had planned out his entire life for him at birth. This is goosebumps music.
