Music for the heart of the rhythm and poetry lover courtesy of ShabZi Madallion and Jimmy Wiz reporting live from far spaces like Saturn. The production is so airy and reminiscent of those classic sampling days in hip hop (although this beat is all original mind you). ShabZi and Jimmy are common collaborators proving one again why their collaborations are a necessity.
Poets Behind Bars literally paints a vague picture of two spaces ShabZi and Jimmy could be. The first being in a cell which is given off in their echoing banter in the opening and closing of the track. Once the track comes to centre you imagine them rapping for their lives behind the mic in cosy separate studios. Jimmy's smooth hook is the echo of many a hip hop head's truth, and even though you may not write, what you consume is the definition of your truth. I love how relatable the fellas are despite packaging their stories with exceptional finesse. They can never step a foot wrong. How do they always do it? Magic.
